Sun shines on special rhino fundraiser

The sun came out for an impressive turnout of 843 runners and walkers for the Kenton Rhino Run 2024, starting from The Backyard at Threeways Centre, Kenton, on Sunday July 22. It was a warm, sunny day for the event to raise funds for the Chipembere Rhino Foundation, an NPO that assists in the protection and conservation of Africa’s rhino.

Final figures are still to be confirmed by the team of volunteers who put on this worthwhile annual fundraiser, but initial totals for the three distances were  37 runners for the 18km, 94 for the 12km and 788 taking on the 5km run/walk. Outdoor Focus’s Carey Webster, event organiser, said was very successful, raising in the region of R65 000 for the Foundation.
